Connection

With the advent of the rigid harness came the evolution of the drums being moved away from the body and off the leg; detaching the drummers from their instruments. Soon, lower back strain was a regular topic at practice, public events and chiropractic clinics.

Players put up with this because the rigid harness brought stability to the drum, particularly when marching. The stability has been a good thing. The trade off is, the longer the day, the greater the pain. Why in the twenty first century is there a trade off? Well there doesn’t need to be because there is the ‘Talon’. No trade off. This is a better thing! Half drums started onto the market to compensate the real thing for weight, particularly for our junior members.

The ‘Talon’ also offers serious drum stability with three solid points of contact. This is your non-rigid alternative.

The philosophy at Phoenix Percussion is to manage the weight, back closer to the body and put it back on the leg therefore reconnecting the drummer to the instrument. The ‘Talon’ connects you to your drum allowing you to feel the beat, feel the tone, and feel the magic once again. After all, that is where the drum always was, on your leg. Ask your tenor drummers!
